Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health (Inpatient, Days)
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary

Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in behavioral health, you will be responsible for performing the nursing process as the basis for patient care. You will provide direction and oversight to licensed and non-licensed staff, demonstrating compassion, integrity, and professional excellence. The role involves working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, and provide nursing care to individuals and groups in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient care needs and develop/reassess individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide and coordinate nursing care in collaboration with physicians.
- Assist in teaching patients and their families, including discharge and aftercare planning.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients and staff in individual and group settings.
- Document, report, and verify all necessary information according to policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report any potential safety risks to physicians.
- Promote a customer-friendly environment by following quality improvement standards and maintaining professionalism.
- Provide care to diverse patient populations in various clinical settings.
- Function as a clinical leader by delegating and coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development.
- Utilize and review patient care protocols and standards of practice, contributing to process improvements.
- May be responsible for training direct care staff and overseeing medication and physical health activities.
- May have responsibilities related to scheduling, staffing, and obtaining pre-authorizations.
- Role model the organization’s mission and values through professional appearance, communication, and behavior.
- Provide spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical support to patients.
- Support and promote a recovery-focused, person-centered approach in community residential settings.
- Maintain annual training and demonstrate competency in required programmatic training.
- May function as a charge nurse.
Required Qualifications
- Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Behavioral Health
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience required (highest stated requirement)
- Licensure: Valid RN license for the state of Michigan
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
