Required Qualifications

• License: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Louisiana
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable (required for ICU RNs)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable (required for ER)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - required for Labor & Delivery and NICU RNs
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - required for ER and Behavioral Health
  • NIH Stroke Certification - required for ER and specific hospital units
• Background Checks:

  • Criminal background check (updated annually if no assignment in last 90 days)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check
  • HHS/OIG check
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Annual respirator fit testing (Fit Mask)
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days prior to start
  • Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Competencies:

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as required by specialty
  • Competency exam as required by profession/specialty
• References: 2 professional references required
• Identification: Copy of valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
