Job Description

• RN needed for Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Will support ICU within scope of practice as well as other PCU and/or Medical-Surgical (MS) units
• Scheduled for 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee
• Start dates available: March 9 or March 23

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
• Prior travel experience preferred (not explicitly required but noted as preferred)

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred but not required

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background check within 1 year of start, including SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide, Sex Offender
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract)
• Immunizations and health requirements including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or positive titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination, positive titer, or history of chickenpox
  • Flu seasonal vaccination (or facility-specific medical/religious exemption)
  • COVID vaccination documentation
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant acceptable)
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
• Required facility-specific documents and acknowledgments prior to start
• References: 2 references required within 3 years of start
• Resume or employment application required
• Skills checklist updated annually

Summary

This is a travel contract RN position in Texas for a PCU role with ICU support responsibilities. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks. Candidates must have at least 2 years of RN experience, with travel experience preferred. Required certifications include ACLS and BLS, with TNCC preferred. Comprehensive health, background, and compliance documentation is required prior to start.
