Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• 3x12-hour shifts
• 12 night shifts every other week (36 hours per week)
• May float to units with similar acuity

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license in Ohio
• Minimum 2 years of postpartum nursing experience
• BLS certification (AHA only; Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
• IV certification and IV start skills
• Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required for L&D, Postpartum, OB)
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam prior to start
• Unit-specific competency exam required
• Background checks including 7-year criminal background, FBI/BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
• Education from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, or CASN)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year of start (or TB questionnaire)
• Required immunizations/vaccinations:

  • Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella
  • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemptions reviewed)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel nursing experience preferred (not required)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete fingerprinting with Ohio BCI & FBI using the specified code; results must be current within 1 year of start.
• Background checks and education verification are mandatory and must be completed prior to or immediately after contract signing.
• Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies including dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, compliance, and fraud/waste/abuse training.
• NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit assignment (check with recruiter).
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required annually.

Prior Travel Experience

• Preferred but not required

This position is ideal for experienced postpartum RNs with strong L&D skills and EPIC experience, looking for a travel contract in Ohio with a reputable healthcare system.
