Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
Location: Titusville, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Acute Care Hospital setting
- Mixed Unit, High Acuity
- Patient Ratio Experience: 1:6 required
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Float required within scope of practice
- No block scheduling allowed
- No RTO (Return to Office) during first or last week of assignment
- Mandatory 5 shifts for clinical orientation week (36-40 hours)
- Local travelers not accepted (must live more than 30 miles from facility)
- Rapid Response team experience required
- Total joints experience required
- Call-out policy: 3 call outs result in termination
- Shift change notice policies with consequences for refusal
- Must complete approximately 4 hours of modules prior to start
- Holiday work requirements based on number of holidays during assignment
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years Registered Nurse experience (highest requirement)
- Patient ratio experience: 1:6
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BCLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (required except for PACU, OR, Women’s Center, or Case Management)
- Licensure: Valid RN license for Florida
- Rapid Response team experience
- Total joints experience
- Must be able to float within scope of practice
Orientation & Training
- Mandatory clinical orientation week with 5 shifts (36-40 hours)
- Facility-specific job description completion required
- Completion of assigned eLearning modules prior to start (due Monday before start week)
- Non-employee orientation quiz and forms must be completed promptly
- Various facility-specific acknowledgements and forms to review and sign
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background check within 6 months including:
- Social Security Trace
- County, Nationwide, National Sex Offender checks
- Education verification (transcript/diploma acceptable as placeholder)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
- Education verification of ASN, BSN, or MSN degree
- NURSYS verification as applicable
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- Fit mask testing completed onsite during first week
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
- Drug screening (9 panel) within 3 months of start
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- COVID vaccination documentation required or facility-specific exemption forms completed
- Flu vaccine or declination documentation recommended but not required for contract workers
- Two professional references within 2 years
- Performance evaluation within last year if applicable
- Skills checklist required
Additional Notes
- Floating and rapid response team experience are mandatory
- Must be willing to work required shifts including holidays and weekends as specified
- Strict attendance and shift change policies enforced
- High acuity environment requiring strong clinical skills and adaptability
This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with acute care and telemetry experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity hospital setting and meeting strict compliance and orientation requirements.
