Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (Charge RN) - Medical Surgical Unit

Location: Millen, Georgia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Charge RN position on a Medical Surgical (MS) unit
• Must have previous charge nurse experience
• Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 3 or 4 twelve-hour shifts per week (rotating schedule with every other weekend off)
• No call required
• Potential to float to other departments in emergencies
• Patient ratio: 1:5 max on a 10-bed floor

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• First-time travel nurses accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - preferred but not required

Charting System

• CPSI (training provided if not familiar)

Required Qualifications & Documents

• Valid Registered Nurse license for Georgia
• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• 7-year background check (updated annually)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (annual)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility policy
• Required immunizations/vaccinations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
• 2 professional references within 3 years
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Additional Information

• No return to origin (RTO) if possible
• Clear, passport-style photo required for badge
• Must review nursing staff attendance and call-out policy
