Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Oncology Clinic

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Oncology)
• Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• Patient Age Group: Adults
• Local Candidates: Considered if within 75 miles
• Flu Vaccine: Required; no exemptions or declinations accepted

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Registered Nurse)
• Licensure: North Carolina RN license or Compact RN license in hand
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only
• Additional Skills: Oncology nursing skills as per unit requirements

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • Must be completed within 90 days of start
  • Includes SSN trace, county searches for past 7 years, sex offender, education verification (if applicable), EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC sanctions list
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 12 months
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine every 10 years
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccination or positive antibody titers (no exemptions)
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer (boosters required if low/equivocal)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (required for new candidates starting October–March)
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Polio vaccine or signed attestation
• References: Two professional references from employment within last 12 months; at least one must be a supervisor
• Employment Application: Required with 7 years of work history
• Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually

Orientation and Onboarding

• Orientation sessions held bi-weekly
• Completion of required online modules prior to orientation
• Competency exams and unit-specific training required
• Must set up a facility-specific guest account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems

Additional Notes

• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific competency checklists and training requirements within 3 weeks of start
• Candidates with less than a 30-day gap between previous assignments at this health system may have some documentation requirements waived or accepted on file
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training provided onsite if applicable
