Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Livingston, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work as an Endoscopy RN in a team setting: 2 RNs or 1 RN and 1 tech per procedure.
• 4 RNs assigned in the post-procedure area.
• Unit operates Monday through Friday with block scheduling.
• Weekend call only, shared equitably among RNs on a rotating schedule. Weekday call from 5 PM to 7 AM.
• Locals accepted.
• First-time travelers accepted.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required in specialty.
• Prior travel experience not required.

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Required Licenses

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for New Jersey.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• I-9 verification.
• Government-issued photo ID and driver's license (must be provided within 48 hours of signing).
• E-Verify clearance.
• Criminal background check within 30 days of start (including alias and multi-level searches).
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals.
• New Jersey Department of Treasury Exclusions List check within 30 days of start and for extensions.
• Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history.
• Work history verification for at least 1 year prior to start (New Jersey state requirement).
• 2 professional references within the last 2 years (one managerial).
• Skills checklist updated annually.
• Various competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, color blind testing, and pass/fail testing as applicable.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes.
• Physical exam within the last 12 months confirming ability to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease.
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (10-panel urine test).
• Seasonal influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (annual requirement).
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer required)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
• Fit test for respirator use if applicable (on-site fit testing mandatory).
• Latex allergy questionnaire if job tasks require glove use.
• Respiratory medical clearance prior to start (annual update required).
• Color vision exam if job tasks require color discrimination.

Additional Requirements

• Completion of annual education sign-off and safety manual acknowledgment.
• Vendor medical clearance form if history of positive TB.
• Facility-specific orientation and training modules as required.
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification not required for this role.
• NIH Stroke Certification not required for Endoscopy RN.
• Chemotherapy certification not required for this role.
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) not required for this role.

Work Schedule & Call Details

• Unit operates Monday through Friday.
• Weekend call rotation among 4 RNs; one month on call, next month off.
• Weekday call coverage from 5 PM to 7 AM.
