Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- Licensure: Must be licensed as an RRT in the state of Georgia
- Patient Population: Adolescents to Geriatrics
- Skills and Work Setting Requirements:
- Community hospital experience required
- Experience in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings
- Proficient with BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, weaning from mechanical ventilation, and ABG interpretation
- Required: Pulmonary toileting
- Preferred: Pulmonary function testing
- Equipment Experience:
- Ventilators preferred: Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Servo I, Evita XL, Viasys Vela, GE Carespace
- Epic electronic health record system preferred
Work Schedule and Requirements
- On-Call: None
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required; must be able to perform respiratory therapy procedures in any hospital unit within scope of practice
- Holidays: If one major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it; if two, expected to work both; if three, expected to work two
- Major Holidays Include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
Compliance and Screening
- Full compliance with credentialing and onboarding required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final approval
Health and Background Requirements
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification and criminal history
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer or signed declination)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap highly recommended)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
- Annual TB questionnaire required
Competency Exams and Additional Requirements
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required
- Color blind testing required (with alternative assessment if needed)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (including ICU, ER, Telemetry)
- Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
- Work history verification and clinical references required

- First-time travelers accepted
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = 12 hours)
