Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Point Pleasant, West Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only

Required Licensure

• Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for West Virginia
• NURSYS verification required

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
• Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated, assume standard ICU RN experience (typically 1+ years)
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year criminal history check (updated annually)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check (updated every contract renewal)
  • HHS/OIG check (updated every contract renewal)
• Physical exam (initial and annual) confirming ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility requirements (two-step PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 6 months)
  • TB questionnaire updated annually
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: titer or 2 vaccines required
  • Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination required
  • Varicella: titer or 2 vaccines required
  • Flu seasonal vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if not vaccinated during flu season)
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days (does not require annual update)
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Completed employment application/resume
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit
• Performance evaluations if previously employed with the system for over 1 year
• Internal evaluations if previously employed for over 2 years

Additional Notes

• First-time travel nurses accepted
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency testing required as applicable
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance required
