MRI Technician - Cooperstown, New York

Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Equipment & Environment:

  • Scanners: Philips 3T and 1.5T (5.7 software)
  • Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
  • Average scans per shift: 7–11
  • PACS/RIS systems: Change Healthcare Radiology Solutions (McKesson) / Epic RIS

• Exam Types & Skill Expectations:

  • Most common studies: Neuro, MSK, Abdomen, Breast, MRA/MRV, General MRI
  • Advanced studies required (excluding Cardiac MRI)
  • Contrast administration required
  • IV starts not required
  • Pediatric imaging required

• Workflow & Autonomy:

  • Radiologist coverage: On-site and remote reading
  • MRI Technologist responsible for patient screening
  • Patient transport handled by hospital transport team

• Schedule & Coverage:

  • Call shifts:

    • 6:00 am – 3:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays
    • 4–5 weekends during the 13-week assignment
  • Holidays required if they fall during call week

• Support Staff:

  • Sedation cases supported by MRI Tech and Nurse
  • No CT or X-ray cross-coverage if volume is low

Required Qualifications

• ARRT (MR) certification required (ARRT (R) only not accepted)
• BLS certification required
• New York state license not required
