Job Opportunity: Outpatient Occupational Therapist (OT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Abilene, Texas

Job Description

  • Outpatient Occupational Therapist role
  • Must have experience working with both pediatric and adult neuro patients
  • Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (varies as needed)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license for Texas
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year (default to higher if conflicting info, here only experience with pediatric and adult neuro patients specified)
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA accepted (Instructor, Provider, or RQI)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA accepted (Instructor, Provider, or RQI)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA accepted (Instructor, Provider, or RQI)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - as applicable
    • Other certifications as applicable (e.g., CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification) - refer to job details for applicability
  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
    • State-specific checks for Texas (DADS Employability Status Check, Employee Misconduct Registry) within 30 days of start
  • Education Verification: Highest level required (transcript or diploma acceptable)
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen including THC within 10 business days prior to start; facility conducts additional drug screen on arrival
  • Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
  • Immunizations and Health Requirements (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract unless otherwise noted):
    • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (PPD or QGold/Tspot) within 1 year
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines; boosters required if non-immune
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted; booster or declination post titer if low/equivocal
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if non-immune
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccine required for 2025-26 season (Oct 1, 2025 - Mar 31, 2026); religious or medical exemptions accepted
    • Fit Mask: Required (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S), must be updated annually
  • References: 2 references required within 3 years of start
  • Skills Checklist: Required and updated annually
  • Other Facility-Specific Documents: Various acknowledgments and forms must be reviewed and signed prior to start
