Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Cath Lab Tech for a travel contract position in a cardiac catheterization lab setting. The unit includes 3 cath labs and one hybrid OR. The role requires participation in call and weekend shifts with a 30-minute response time.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in Radiology / Cardiology
- Prior travel experience required (unit does not accept first-time travelers)
Work Schedule & Call Requirements
- Call required: Typically 6 evenings and 1 weekend per 6 weeks
- Weekend shifts: Typically one weekend per 6 weeks on standby
- Must respond within 30 minutes of call back

- Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab (required)
- Special Procedures (preferred)
Required Skills & Procedures
- Cardiac Stent Placement
- Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult)
- IABP Placement/Removal
- Impella insertion
- Left and Right heart catheterization
- Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
- Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
- Rotablader athrectomy
- Temporary Pacemaker
- Ventricular Assist Device Insertion
Preferred Procedures:
- Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
- Pulmonary Artery (PA) line insertion
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR)
- Watchman device
Equipment & Procedural Responsibilities
- Fluoroscopy (Siemens)
- Accurate monitoring and equipment setup
- Perform EKG lead placement
- Prep access site
- Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Room circulator and scrub role maintaining sterile field
- Vascular Closure Systems (Perclose, StarClose)
Professional Knowledge & Communication
- Isolation Precautions (required)
- Use of Rapid Response team (preferred)
- Communication using SBAR
- Medication system: Pyxis
- Documentation systems: EPIC, McKesson
Required Qualifications
- Valid license for Cath Lab Tech in Washington (specific license details not provided, ensure current and active license)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
- Other certifications as applicable per clinical track (PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM, etc.) may be required based on unit needs
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Required immunizations/vaccinations including TDAP, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu, COVID (or declination forms)
- 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates
- Background checks and verifications as required by state and facility policies
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to float to other Providence facilities within a reasonable distance if needed
- Scrubs provided
- Passport-style badge photo required
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules and facility-specific training prior to start
- Must comply with all state-specific background and registry checks
