Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Greenbelt, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide home health nursing care using OASIS E & HCHB PointCare EMR systems (experience required).
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8).
• May be asked to float to cover other zip codes within the service area as needed.
• Service area includes Montgomery County, Prince George's County, Charles County, and St. Mary’s County. Assignments are based on staffing needs within these counties.
• Use of personal vehicle required; mileage reimbursed for travel between patients.

Required Qualifications

• License: Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (AHA or ARC).
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required.
• EMR Experience: Must have experience with OASIS E.
• Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience is not required.
• Vehicle: Reliable personal vehicle with valid driver’s license and insurance required.

Additional Requirements

• Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including multi-state searches.
• Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana).
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year, updated annually).
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred.
  • Documentation of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and varicella immunity or vaccination.
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season.
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start date.
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology testing as required.

References and Work History

• Two positive supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information.

Notes

• Candidates must be able to travel within the specified counties and use their own vehicle for patient visits.
• Float assignments may be requested to cover other zip codes as needed.
• This is a travel contract position with a 13-week duration.
