Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina

Job Details

  • Shift: Nights
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: Yes, must float within scope to meet facility needs/float between like units
  • Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
  • Locals Accepted: No (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
  • Pending License: Not accepted
  • Return to Work Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
  • Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
  • Guaranteed Hours: Call off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed
  • Must be comfortable working with both adults and children in ICU settings
  • Only 4 days allowed off (RTO) and no holidays off
  • Facility Type: Short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital
  • Total Staffed Beds: 733

Required Qualifications

  • License: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license required
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Military only
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Military only
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or Military only
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required for applicable units
  • Competencies:
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (must be completed via Relias and renewed annually)
    • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) with remediation policy in place
  • Background Checks: Must have a background check within 6 months of start date including SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable
  • Health Requirements:
    • Physical exam within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Immunizations: TDAP, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines required)
    • Hepatitis B vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
    • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days
    • Flu vaccine required year-round (exemptions require facility-approved documentation)
    • COVID-19 vaccine not required but accepted if available

  • Callouts for scheduled shifts require makeup shifts as deemed necessary by the department
