Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (ICU) - Georgia, Stockbridge
Job Summary

Patient Population

Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience (higher value confirmed)

Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (check unit description for requirement)
Clinical Skills and Work Environment
- Common diagnoses: ARDS, Sepsis, Stroke, STEMI, DKA, Post-op complications, Cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, Liver failure, Drug overdose, ESRD on CRRT
- Patient ratio: 1:2-3 (may take a 3rd patient)
- Unit census: 24 rooms, average daily census 19
- Unit systems: Pyxis, Epic, SBAR
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice
- Block scheduling not guaranteed
- No travel pairs allowed
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
Required Licenses
- Valid Registered Nurse license for the state of Georgia
Compliance and Screening
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation schedule
- Clinical screening required to determine clinical fit before final approval
Orientation
- Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours depends on contract length (e.g., 14 weeks = 14 hours)
Required Health and Background Documents
- Background check within 30 days of start (including education verification)
- Education verification (degree related to nursing)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if prior positive)
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
- Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
- References: 2 clinical references required
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Work history verification of most recent employer
Competency Exams (Aya required)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
- Color blind testing (with alternative assessment if needed)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (3 attempts allowed; failure results in cancellation)
- General competency exam for nursing
Facility Policies
- Must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
This position is ideal for ICU Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable working with adult to geriatric patients in a high-acuity setting. The role requires flexibility with floating, weekend shifts, and holiday coverage. Compliance with all certifications, health screenings, and facility policies is mandatory.
