Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Conyers, Georgia

Job Description

  • Provide respiratory care services including evaluation and treatment of cardiopulmonary function and impairment.
  • Attend all high-risk C-sections and deliveries to manage neonate airway per Neonatal Protocol.
  • Responsible for airway management and ventilatory support during resuscitations.
  • Provide ventilatory care in Emergency Department, ICU/CCU, PACU, and Level III nursery.
  • Work under supervision of licensed physician.
  • Patient care decisions based on assessment data and diagnostic information.
  • Weekend schedule: Every other weekend.
  • No on-call required.
  • Floating within facility as needed and within scope of practice.
  • Must work major holidays if they fall during assignment (expectation varies by number of holidays).

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty.
  • First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required).

Required Qualifications

Licensure

  • Must hold a current Respiratory Therapist license (RRT) valid in the state of Georgia.

Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required.
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) course required within a few months of hire (no re-certification required).

Health & Compliance

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer).
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer).
    • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination.
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap highly recommended but not required.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (includes amphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, cocaine, opiates, methadone, PCP, propoxyphene, THC).
  • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31).

Background & Documentation

  • Background check required within 30 days of start.
  • Education verification required (degree related to specialty).
  • Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually.
  • Work history verification of most recent employer required (can be pending at start with proof it is in process).
  • Two clinical references required.
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start.

Competency Exams

  • Color Blind Testing required.
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required (3 attempts allowed; failure results in cancellation).
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required.
  • General competency exam required.

Facility Requirements

  • Review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start.
  • Full compliance with all requirements necessary to start on time; delays in compliance may result in assignment push back.

Additional Notes

  • CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) credentials are NOT accepted for this unit.
  • Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment).
  • Locals accepted at same rate.
  • Maximum time to respond to offer is 7 days.
