Job Opportunity: RN Supervisor (RN SUP)
Location: Fairview, Pennsylvania
Facility Type: Long-Term Care (LTC) / Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)

Contract Length
- 15 weeks
Facility & Unit Details
- Total Beds: 300 beds across 6 units
- A: 47 beds
- C: 50 beds (Covid unit, currently closed)
- G: 59 beds
- H: 40-bed secure dementia unit
- J: 59 beds
- K: 45 beds
- EMR System: PCC
- Staffing Ratios: RN Supervisor is not assigned direct resident care tasks; majority of floor nurses are LPNs.
- Nurse Managers: 3 assigned Monday-Friday (2 units each), 1 on weekends overseeing all units.
- Additional Nurses per Unit: 1 Charge Nurse and 1 Med/Treatment Nurse; possible 3rd nurse if staffing allows.
Shift Details
- Days: Nurse Managers and floor nurses (RN and LPN) coverage as above.
- Evenings: 1 RN Supervisor plus floor nurses (RN or LPN).
- Nights: 1 RN Supervisor as staffing allows, plus 1 floor nurse per unit.
- Shift Length: 8.25 hours with 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, with option to work more.
- Holiday Requirement: Yes, scheduled 2 weeks in advance, work required if holiday falls on scheduled day.
- Call/Standby: None. Scheduled shifts only.
- Floating: None; position covers entire building.
Patient Population
- Residents 18+ years old
- Accepts LTC, skilled, rehab, dementia, and hospice care (2 dedicated hospice rooms)
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as building supervisor during evenings, nights, and weekends
- Oversee floor RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
- Not assigned direct resident care tasks
- Monitor change of condition and resident issues
- Schedule outside services (lab, portable x-ray, etc.)
- Contact MD/NP for resident needs/issues
- Perform central line care, chest tube care/management, IV starts, admission orders, and fall assessments (RN only)
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS Certification
- Valid RN license (implied by job title and specialty)
Experience Requirements
- Prior experience with PCC EMR required
- Experience measuring wounds (measuring only; staging done by NP)
- Specialty Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years typical for RN Supervisor roles unless otherwise specified
Clinical Skills & Procedures
- IVs and titratable drips: Lasix, bumex, antibiotics
- No telemetry monitors or RN strip reading required
- May participate in care plan meetings, especially for short-term stay residents
Interdisciplinary Team
- PT, OT, SLP, Case Managers, Social Workers, Dieticians
- No Respiratory Therapist on-site 24/7
- Oxygen therapy equipment present (CPAP, BiPAP, O2, Nebulizers, INH, trach with/without humidifier)
- No ventilators accepted
Pharmacy & Medication
- Pharmacy on-site Monday-Friday during business hours
- Medications administered from pill bottles; no med dispensing system
- RN Supervisor has access to emergency drug closet when pharmacy is closed
Dress Code
- Clean, professional scrubs of any color except camouflage
Orientation
- 3 days unit/department specific orientation
