Job Description

• Provide comprehensive nursing care on the Geropsychiatric Unit.
• Assess, monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
• Maintain accurate patient reports and medical histories.
• Perform mental and physical assessments.
• Administer medication and treatments as ordered by physicians.
• Assist patients with daily activities and observe reactions.
• Manage therapeutic milieu activities including daily groups, education, and 1:1 patient interactions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team members to ensure optimal patient care.
• Complete individualized treatment plans upon admission and ongoing.
• Plan, implement, and coordinate nursing care activities.
• Conduct therapies based on patient diagnosis and needs.
• Provide efficient discharge planning and obtain accurate admission histories.
• Complete all required documentation timely, including admission paperwork, assessments, progress notes, and discharge paperwork.
• Adhere to therapeutic standards and measure health outcomes against patient care goals and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

• Education:

  • Minimum: 2-year Associate degree or diploma from a 3-year Nursing program
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree
• License:

  • Valid State of New Hampshire Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Certifications:

  • BLS certification required
• Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year previous nursing experience preferred
• Skills:

  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to perform interventions, evaluations, and discharge paperwork
  • Commitment to quality care and adherence to therapeutic standards

Additional Information

• Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
• The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
