Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Acute Rehabilitation
- Number of Beds: 10
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
- Common Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Spinal Cord Injury, Spinal Surgery, Amputees
- Therapies Available: Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), Neuropsychology
- Respiratory/Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, transfer equipment, tracheostomies, nasal cannula, PEG and Mickey button, NG tubes
Schedule & Work Environment
- Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM (Night Shift)
- Weekend Requirements: Rotating weekends (approximately 4 weekend days per month)
- Holiday Requirements: Yes
- Call or Standby: No
- Floating: Possible assignment to acute floor if overstaffed
- Self-Scheduling: Not allowed, but employees may submit scheduling requests
- Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
- Orientation: Unit/Department specific orientation provided
Required Qualifications
- License: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of bedside nursing experience in an acute inpatient rehab setting
- Skills:
- Ability to attend team conferences on day shift
- Experience working with stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, and amputee patients
- Familiarity with respiratory equipment and feeding tubes used in rehab patients
Additional Notes
- No telemetry or monitor techs on unit; RNs do not read cardiac strips
- Charge nurse takes patient assignments
- Nurse aides intermittently available at a ratio of 1 aide per 8-10 patients
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
This position is ideal for RNs with acute inpatient rehabilitation experience seeking a structured night shift role with rotating weekends and holidays.
