Job Opportunity: MRI Technologist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 17 weeks
Job Description
- Work evening/night shifts (8-hour shifts), Monday through Friday, between 1:30 PM and midnight.
- Cover multiple locations within the health system.
- Perform technical imaging examinations and complex, specialized MRI procedures using a variety of imaging equipment and systems.
- Work independently with all patient age groups across varying locations.
- Responsible for equipment maintenance and repairs, participate in quality assurance, and resolve image processing and archiving issues.
- Collaborate with staff to prioritize and organize schedules and triage routine and emergent procedures.
- Participate in instruction of fellows, residents, physicians, and visiting healthcare professionals; may also participate in clinical research.
- Floating required: may be assigned shifts in multiple units or locations depending on staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Radiology/Cardiology specialty.
- Licensure/Certification:
- American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) OR
- ARRT Magnetic Resonance (MR) certification.
- CPR certification (must be current within 3 months of start).
- Education: Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred (not required for travelers due to certification requirements).
- Location Requirement: Traveler’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of the primary work site.
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Background checks including criminal history, employment, and education verifications as applicable.
- Required to complete facility-specific forms and screenings such as Wisconsin BID Form and caregiver screening.
- Must comply with facility health requirements including:
- Immunizations and titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination), TB testing, Flu vaccination or approved exemption, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap.
- Drug screening as per facility and agency standards.
- Required certifications and competency exams as applicable, including but not limited to:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification by American Heart Association.
- ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications as required by unit or specialty.
- Facility-specific telemetry exams and competency testing if applicable.
- Photo for badge and acknowledgment of safety manuals and testing required.

- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
