Travel Registered Nurse (ICU) - Georgia, Valdosta

Job Details

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Weekend shifts: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Float required to ICU, CPU, PCU, and occasionally to Med Surg/Telemetry (max 4 patients)
• Nurse to patient ratio: 1:3-4 in cardiac progressive (stepdown) unit

Patient Population

• Adults and Geriatrics
• Cardiac diagnoses including cardiothoracic surgical patients (travelers do not take fresh open heart patients)
• 8 beds designated as cardiac progressive (stepdown)

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (Registered Nurse - ICU)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA only)
• BLS (AHA or American Red Cross)
• CCRN (Preferred)

Required Skills (Clinical Pass Criteria)

Must have strong skills (rated 3 or 4) in:

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Care of ventilated patients
• Continuous IV sedation (preferred)
• Procedural sedation administration (preferred)

Systems Used

• Medication system: Omnicell
• Documentation system: EPIC

Additional Requirements

• Pass/fail testing on EKG, medication, and critical care exams during orientation (two attempts allowed)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, renewed yearly
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (including Marijuana/THC)
• Required immunizations and titers: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or documentation if previously positive)
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• Mask fit testing completed at orientation
• Background check within 30 days of start
• Professional references (2) and employment application required
• Photo for badge (passport style, white background)
• Facility-specific orientation and training modules must be completed prior to start

Prior Travel Experience

• No prior travel experience required (1st timers okay)

This position is ideal for ICU RNs with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable with cardiac and ventilated patients, and who meet the certification and clinical skill requirements. The role involves night shifts with weekend coverage and some floating within critical care and progressive care units.
