Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience (higher value confirmed)
• First-timers: Accepted
• Certifications:

  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required
• Licensure: Valid Florida RN license required (primary source verification required)
• Background Checks: Must pass standard background checks including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
• Education: Foreign equivalency evaluation required if education was completed outside the US or Puerto Rico
• Competencies:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 80% or higher)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (100% lethal arrhythmia score) for applicable units
  • Color Blind Testing (Relias) prior to start
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 10 weeks of start (annual TB questionnaire required)
  • Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Drug testing: Standard 9-panel within 30 days (instant tests not accepted)
  • Flu vaccination or approved declination required for 2025-26 season
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions accepted)
  • Respirator medical clearance if respirator use is required
• References: Two professional references from the past 2 years required

• Photo: Professional photo for badge required prior to start

Additional Requirements

• Training Modules: Must register and complete BayCare Online Learning Center modules prior to start (4-8 hours)
• Dress Code & Tobacco Policy: Must comply with facility policies
• On-Call: Critical on-call with 30-minute return time
• Floating: Must float within scope to meet facility needs across multiple facilities
• COVID-19: Vaccination required; exemptions accepted for medical or religious reasons
