Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Job Description

• Must be comfortable with a 1:6 patient ratio.
• Patients typically require Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level of care.
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend.
• Floating within scope of practice is required.
• No block scheduling allowed.
• Mandatory 5 shifts for clinical orientation week (36-40 hours).
• Orthopedic and total joint replacement nursing care experience strongly preferred.
• Local candidates not accepted (must live more than 30 miles from facility).

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty.
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratio and PCU level patients required.

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification (required for all RNs except PACU, OR, Women’s Center, or Case Management)

Additional Requirements

• Floating required.
• Must complete facility-specific job description and orientation modules prior to start.
• Must be available to work holidays and evening shifts as required during assignment.
• 3 call outs result in termination.
• Must provide two professional references within two years of start.
• Performance evaluation within the last year required if previously completed assignments through any agency.
• Skills checklist required.

Compliance and Documentation

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID).
• Background check within 6 months including social security trace, nationwide and county checks, sex offender registry, and education verification.
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start.
• Education verification of ASN, BSN, or MSN required (transcript/diploma acceptable as placeholder).
• Physical exam within 6 months of start.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes.
• Drug screening (9 panel) within 3 months of start.
• COVID vaccination documentation required or approved exemption forms.
• Flu vaccination documentation encouraged but not required.
• Required facility-specific acknowledgements and forms (e.g., confidentiality, orientation, vaccination declination if applicable).

Notes

• Candidates must plan for at least 4 hours to complete required modules prior to start date.
• Fit testing will be completed onsite during the first week.
• Color blindness testing and medication/pharmacology competency exams required.
• Refusal to change shifts with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in forfeiting guaranteed hours or termination.

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses comfortable with PCU level care and orthopedic patient populations, seeking a travel contract in Florida.
