Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Details
- Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (3x12s)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Patient Ratios: Average 1:5
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- On-call: Not required
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes
- Pending License: Accepted but must be active prior to start date
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: RTO greater than 7 days requires approval

Required Qualifications
- Discipline: Registered Nurse (Telemetry specialty)
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse license in Connecticut required prior to start
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only (check unit requirements)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only (check unit requirements)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required for NICU only
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required for ER units, preferred for Pediatric ER
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - Check unit requirements
- NIH Stroke Certification - Required for all RNs except Behavioral Health, Case Management, Home Health, OR, Pediatric units, NICU, Labor and Delivery
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - Required for Psychiatric/Behavioral Health, preferred for ER RNs
- Competency Exams:
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 85%)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates starting 8/2/2024, must score 80%)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry, MS/Tele, ER, ICU, Progressive Care, PACU, IR/Cath Lab, Endo/GI units)
Background Checks & Verifications
- 7-year Criminal Background Check (must be updated annually)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM Check (within 30 days of start)
- HHS/OIG Check (within 30 days of start)
- Education Verification (including Foreign Equivalency for Internationally Educated RNs)
- Sex Offender Search
- State License Primary Source Verification (within 30 days of start)
- NURSYS Verification (within 30 days of start)
- Employment Application with 7-year work history, no gaps >90 days
- Work History Verification for last 7 years (attestations not accepted)
- Attestation of Prior Radiation Exposure (if applicable to certain units)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam (within 12 months of start)
- Fit Mask Test (within 12 months, must be updated annually; clean shaven required)
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (acceptable documentation within specified timeframes)
- TB Questionnaire (must be updated annually)
- Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines; boosters required if titers low
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, 3-dose vaccine series, or declination within 1 year
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician documented history; boosters if low/equivocal
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Highly preferred for Pediatric specialties, Labor & Delivery, Postpartum (Tdap declination acceptable)
- Drug Testing: 10 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (rapid accepted)
- Flu Seasonal Vaccination/Documentation (2025-26 season): Vaccine or medical/religious exemption required; declinations not allowed
- COVID Vaccination: Preferred to have initial series

- Stroke Education Module and Attestation (required except Pediatric specialties and NICU)
- CLABSI Prevention for Adult and Pediatric Training
- Preventing Pressure Injury Training
- Language Services Training
- CAUTI Education Training (except PICU, NICU, Psychiatry/Behavioral Health)
- Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education
- Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment Training
- Pyxis ES MedStation Modules (except certain hospitals)
- Baxter Pump Interoperability Training
- Patient Bedside Rounding Module (except OR, Behavioral Health, Ambulatory, ER/ED)
- Ventricular Assist Device Awareness (except certain hospitals)
- AME Blood Administration Module (except Case Managers, Behavioral Health/Psych, Home Health)
- New Employee Orientation Module
- 21st Century Cures Act Module (required for RN except Home Health)
- ED Handbook (for ED/ER RNs only)
- eCart Training Module (except Pediatric, Periop/OR, Outpatient, Case Managers, Home Health)
- Chaperone Policy Training
- EPIC Testing (optional but highly encouraged for RNs with EPIC experience)
- Vaccination Booster Medical Exemption Form (if requesting exemption)
