Job Opportunity: MRI Technician

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work hours: 08:30 AM – 05:00 PM
• Call schedule: Approximately half days during weekdays and every 4th weekend; holidays rotate with regular staff
• Must have at least 1 year of hospital experience in MRI and with the GE system
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system preferred
• May be required to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles

Required Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin license for MRI Technicians
• ARRT certification preferred (optional but recommended)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA standard) required
• Minimum 1 year of MRI hospital experience (highest required specialty experience)
• No prior travel experience explicitly required

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Professional credentials including resume/profile and two professional references
• Signed assignment agreement and confirmation documents
• License and certificate verification with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
• Criminal background check and employment verification covering the past 7 years
• Completion of Ascension Core Competencies and Skills Checklist relevant to specialty
• Specialty exam demonstrating competency in MRI, minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
• Health and immunization requirements including:

  • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or immunity evidence)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (mask required if declined)
  • Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years
  • TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA test, chest X-ray if positive, annual TB questionnaire
  • Fit test for respiratory protection (3M 1860/1870+ masks)
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually
• Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
• Driver’s license or state ID matching address on file, valid and unexpired
• Badge photo (headshot with white or blue background)

Additional Notes

• Floating to other sites within 40 miles may be required based on department needs
• Call schedule includes some weekend and holiday rotation
• Competency and compliance documents must be maintained and updated as required throughout the assignment
