Job Description

• Provide professional nursing care through the nursing process.
• Meet the needs of patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams through communication, coordination, and evaluation.
• Comply with all policies, procedures, nursing standards of practice, and regulatory bodies.
• Must be willing to float to Elmer unit if needed.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience required (Medical Surgical ICU experience preferred).
• Prior Travel Experience: Travel experience required.
• License: Valid New Jersey RN license or compact license.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA only).
• Charting System: Cerner.

Schedule & Orientation

• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend.
• Holiday shifts: Every other holiday.
• Return to Office (RTO): No more than 3 days.
• Orientation:

  • Completion of full orientation is mandatory; failure to complete results in immediate termination.
  • Virtual Welcome meeting and online HealthStream modules must be completed by Monday of the start week.
  • In-person classes typically held Tuesday through Thursday at multiple locations.
  • POCT class attendance required (not during orientation week).
  • Unit-based orientation schedule provided by manager.
  • Badge ID must be obtained in person during orientation (photo submissions not accepted). Badge required for clock-ins.

Contract Length

• 12 weeks

Additional Requirements

• Compliance with background checks, drug screening, immunizations (COVID-19, Hep B, Influenza, MMR, TdaP, Varicella), physical exam, employment and educational verifications, and various regulatory screenings.
• Completion of core mandatory annual training and confidentiality agreements.

This position is ideal for experienced MICU nurses with prior travel experience looking for a 12-week contract in New Jersey.
