Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist - Oncology (Days)

Location: Keene, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

Under the administrative direction of the Chief Therapist and clinical direction of the Radiation Oncologist, the Radiation Therapist will assist in the treatment and care of oncology patients. The role requires the ability to work independently and includes:

  • Administering prescribed radiation treatments and monitoring patients and equipment during treatment
  • Preparing patients, rooms, and equipment for treatment and simulations
  • Assisting the Radiation Oncologist with medical examinations and simulations
  • Performing necessary equipment calibration as prescribed by Radiation Safety Officer
  • Observing radiation safety measures for patients and personnel
  • Recording patient doses, documenting patient history and reactions, and reporting findings
  • Completing scheduling, consultation, billing, and other related paperwork

Required Qualifications

  • License:
    • Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required
    • New Hampshire Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy License (or equivalent) required; must be willing to follow the process for a temporary license if needed (including fingerprinting)
  • Certifications:
    • Active American Heart Association BLS certification required
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2+ years of current Radiation Therapy experience (highest required years of experience)
    • Oncology experience required
    • Experience with VARIAN TRUEBEAM required
    • Experience with ARIA (Treatment Record and Management) required
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must have own vehicle
    • Prior travel experience is strongly preferred (not required)
    • Must be pre-closed to this specific need before submission
    • Local travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered

Additional Information

  • All medical and occupational health compliance items must be completed within 5 days of offer acceptance
  • Scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission; no scheduling changes will be approved after offer
  • The position offers exposure to a regional referral center with access to outdoor recreational activities nearby
