Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: San Angelo, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Start date options: March 9 or March 23
- Hybrid schedule with rotating shifts: 0630-1500 or 1030-1900
- 8-hour shifts with rotating days off
- Shift rotation includes days, mid-shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holiday calls
- Fast-paced Operating Room environment
- Specialty areas include general, neuro, ortho, trauma, robotics
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license valid in Texas
- Minimum 5 years of OR nursing experience preferred (may consider less with strong specialty experience)
- Prior travel experience strongly preferred (not explicitly required but highly valued)
Certifications Required
- ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
- BLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
- PALS (AHA or ARC accepted; ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain for longer assignments)
- NRP (as applicable)
- TNCC (required for ER; ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain for longer assignments)
- EFM (as applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for ICU and PCU)
- Chemotherapy certification (as applicable)
- ENPC (as applicable)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual update required)
- Pass/Fail Testing (medication administration, restraint, glucometer, etc.)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 30 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Education verification required
- NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
- State license verification required within 30 days of start
- Drug testing required within 30 days of start (includes multiple substances)
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
- Fit test required within 6 months prior to start (annual updates required)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- TDAP (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
- TB questionnaire annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or series with declination form)
- Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or proof of disease)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/31-3/31)
- COVID initial series required (boosters not required)
Additional Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Social Security card required
- Clear passport-style photo for badge
- Completion of facility-specific forms prior to start (health record, code of conduct, confidentiality, orientation, etc.)
- Two professional references within 3 years
- Resume or employment application required
- Annual skills checklist update required
