Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 4x10s, 12:00 PM - 10:30 PM (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, with holidays as needed)
- Orientation: First week on day shift for orientation, then regular schedule begins
- Call: Weekly call rotation, 3-4 days per month
- Floating: May float within scope to other buildings on the same campus and sister facilities
- Daily Caseload: Varies
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent OR experience
- Certifications/Licenses:
- ARRT (R) certification required
- South Carolina Radiologic Technologist license (SCRQSA) required prior to start
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Additional Experience:
- C-arm and O-arm experience required
- Trauma experience preferred but not required
- Radiation Badge: Must be supplied by the agency; facility does NOT provide radiation badges
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
- First-timers: Accepted

Important Notes
- Radius Rule: 60 miles
- Locals: Accepted on a case-by-case basis
- State License: South Carolina license must be in hand prior to start (no pending licenses accepted)
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Hurricane Season: June through November; all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during this time
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Proof of work eligibility (I-9, E-Verify)
- Background checks including 7-year history and various federal/state registries
- Education verification (diploma/transcripts)
- Clinical references (2 required)
- Employment history verification (last 3 clinical employers)
- Radiation badge process and monthly/quarterly dosimetry reporting required
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Drug screening: 10-panel within 90 days prior to start
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or proof of prior positive with follow-up chest x-ray
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titers or vaccination series with boosters as needed
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30) or medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
- COVID vaccines highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge required before start
Certifications Summary
