Job Description

• Dedicated float RN position covering ICU, Intermediate/Stepdown, and MedSurg units based on patient volume.
• Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (3x12), weekdays with up to 2 weekends per month.
• Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the contract.
• Flexibility in floating between units is essential.
• Blocked schedule requests may be considered if submitted at application.
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6 depending on unit acuity.
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) proficiency required with recent experience in EPIC.

Required Qualifications

• License: Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or multistate license.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in specialty (higher value between 1-2 years required is 2 years).
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Must be very flexible with floating assignments.
• Prior travel experience preferred but not explicitly required.

Additional Requirements

• Must be willing to work holidays as specified.
• Must reside more than 40 miles from the facility (local rule).
• Government-issued photo ID and driver’s license required for address verification.
• All scrubs must be either all white or all navy.

Compliance and Documentation

• Proof of I9 or attestation.
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG checks.
• NURSYS verification for RN license.
• Required health documents:

  • Physical exam updated annually.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually.
  • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
  • Drug screening within 90 days prior to start, updated annually.
• Required facility-specific documents including badge photo and self-study orientation.
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
