Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Sayre, Pennsylvania

Job Description

  • Must have Pennsylvania state license in hand before starting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Respiratory Therapy required.
  • First-time travelers accepted.
  • Work every other week (EOW) schedule.
  • Responsibilities include bedside bronchoscopy and respiratory services.
  • Patient population includes pediatric patients in the Emergency Department and admitted patients over 13 years of age.
  • Use of specialized equipment such as Servo I/U, Hamilton C1, V60, Air Sense/Air Curve, INO Max, OptiFlow, Airvo, Micro Max, Panda Warmer, and Boston Scientific Exhault for bronchoscopy.

Required Qualifications

  • License: Valid Pennsylvania Respiratory Therapist license.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Respiratory Therapy specialty.
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted).

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID.
  • I9 verification.
  • E-Verify compliance.
  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, including social security trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check, and education verification.
  • Education verification of highest level completed (ASN/BSN for RNs, GED/High School for Allied).
  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by a licensed provider, confirming fitness to work.
  • Respirator Fit Test within 1 year of start, updated annually.
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
  • Immunizations and titers documentation including:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
    • Hepatitis B (series, declination, or positive titer)
    • Varicella
    • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
    • COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses) or approved exemption (booster not required)
  • TB testing: QGold/TSpot within 90 days or 2 PPDs (one within 90 days, second within 12 months), with annual updates.
  • Respirator clearance via RespSafety questionnaire prior to start.
  • Professional references (2 required).
  • Employment application.
  • Unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year of start, updated annually.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprinting and Child Abuse Search (no pending results allowed).

Additional Training and Compliance

  • Completion of facility-specific training modules including:
    • HIPAA Compliance
    • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
    • Infection Control
    • OSHA
    • Safety, Security, Emergency Preparedness
    • Sexual Harassment
    • SOGI Caregiver training
  • Review and sign confidentiality agreement and job description prior to start.
  • Photo for badge meeting specific requirements.
  • Completion of facility annual training modules prior to start.
  • EPIC test out process for RNs (if applicable).

Work Environment

  • Exposure to pediatric and adult patients.
  • Use of advanced respiratory equipment and technology.
  • Work in Emergency Department and inpatient settings.

This position is ideal for Respiratory Therapists with at least 1 year of experience who are licensed in Pennsylvania and are interested in a travel contract opportunity with a reputable healthcare system. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
