Job Opportunity: Travel Registered Nurse (ER)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland

Job Description

• Position in a Level 2 Trauma Center with high acuity patients.
• Emergency Room (ER) has 54 beds and sees an average of 220 patients per day.
• Fast-paced environment requiring strong clinical skills.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in the specialty.
• Prior travel experience required: Must have completed at least 1 year of travel nursing or 1 prior travel contract.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) — required for ER/ED (pending TNCC acceptable)
• EPIC experience required (electronic health record system)

Required Licenses

• Valid Maryland RN license OR a compact RN license with proof of state residency matching the compact license state.

Vaccination & Health Requirements

• 2-Step PPD (Tuberculosis test) within 1 year of start (with specific timing for 2nd step) or negative chest X-ray if positive TB test.
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions or declinations accepted).
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start.
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, vaccination, or declination accepted)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (annual update required).

Additional Requirements

• Proof of 2 clinical references.
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG (all required annually).
• NURSYS verification as applicable.
• NIH Stroke Certification required (except Pediatrics, OB, and Labor & Delivery units).
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable.
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required.

Notes

• Local candidates within 50 miles receive a different pay rate (not included here).
• Fingerprinting required for school placements only (not applicable for this ER role).

This role is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses with prior travel experience looking to work in a busy trauma center environment.
