Physical Therapist (PT) - West Virginia, Petersburg

Job Description

• Primarily outpatient physical therapy with some coverage of acute inpatient and SWING (acute rehab) inpatient units as needed.
• Patient load: 8-10 patients per day.
• Common diagnoses treated:

  • Outpatient: Geriatric weakness, balance/gait issues, low back pain (LBP), post total knee replacement (TKR) and total hip replacement (THR), rotator cuff repairs (RTC), total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA).
  • Inpatient: Weakness due to multiple medical conditions, post TKR/THR, discharge planning.
• Weekend on-call coverage required: 2 weekends during the 13-week contract.
• Holiday on-call coverage aligned with weekend on-call schedule.
• Flexible but consistent shift hours, typically 7 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday-Friday.
• Full-time position.
• Therapists assist with patient scheduling; support staff available.
• Dress code: Scrubs (any color) or business casual.
• Orientation includes Epic EMR training and hospital new employee orientation.
• Documentation uses Epic EMR for both inpatient and outpatient care.

Required Qualifications

• Physical Therapy license in West Virginia.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA).
• 1-2 years of experience preferred in outpatient and acute care physical therapy.
• Ability to supervise 1 PTA.
• Must be willing to work Fridays and participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotations.
