Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech - Surgical Services

Job Description

• Specialty: Surgical Services (CVOR Tech)
• Required experience: Minimum 2 years in CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
• Certifications required:

  • NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) certification only (NO NCCT)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Experience required:

  • Open heart surgery experience required
  • Level I trauma experience required
  • EPIC experience required
• Schedule:

  • 4x10-hour shifts (6 AM - 4:30 PM) with alternating days off
  • 1-2 call days per week with 30-minute response time
  • Every 3rd or 4th weekend (Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 6 AM)
  • Holidays as needed
• Floating: As needed
• May care for COVID-19 patients
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years CVOR experience (highest required)
• NBSTSA certification
• BLS certification
• Open heart surgery experience
• Level I trauma experience
• EPIC system experience

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• PA State Police PATCH search (must be finalized prior to start)
• PA FBI fingerprinting within 1 year of start (results must be on file within 45 days of assignment start)
• Child Abuse History Clearance (PA Childline) within 5 years (results must be on file within 45 days of assignment start)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts
• Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year (Aya requirement only)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative QGold or TSpot TB test within 90 days (PPD not accepted)
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
• Seasonal flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption or declination accepted
• Respiratory Safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within 3 years
• Most recent resume/application
• Annual skills checklist
• Competency exams as applicable (medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, etc.)
• Clear, professional passport-style photo for badge
• Completion of facility-specific documents including code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, and health & wellness commitments
• Completion of required online learning modules and new hire orientation

Schedule & Work Environment

• 4x10 hour shifts with alternating days off
• On-call with 30-minute response time
• Weekend and holiday coverage as needed
• May care for COVID-19 patients
• Tobacco and fragrance-free environment

This position is ideal for experienced CVOR Techs with open heart and Level I trauma experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, trauma-level 1 surgical environment with EPIC system proficiency.
