Job Opportunity: Medical Physicist

Location: Salem, Oregon
Employment Type: Locum Tenens - 1099
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a full-service radiation oncology department with two Varian linac machines.
• Patient load: approximately 65 patients per day, primarily outpatient (95%).
• Utilize Varian Aria and Eclipse EMR systems.
• Perform all types of chart checks, daily and monthly QA on Varian TruBeam linacs.
• Hospital-based Radiation Oncology clinic setting.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiation Therapist license in Oregon
• Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• ABR board certification in therapeutic medical physics

Skills & Competencies

• Highly proficient with Varian TruBeam linacs and ARIA system.
• Ability to perform daily and monthly quality assurance on radiation machines.

Travel & Logistics

• Travel and lodging expenses covered by the client.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Clear copy of valid driver’s license, passport, or state ID.
• Criminal background check within 90 days of start (7-year search).
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and ongoing every 30 days.
• Physical exam within one year of start (can start with pending physical).
• Drug testing (10-panel) within 90 days of start.
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella antibody titers or vaccinations
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella antibody titer or vaccinations
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or signed declination (year-round)
• Badge photo with white background required at least 8 days prior to start.
• Completion of required HealthStream modules by due date.
• Competency exams as applicable.

Additional Notes

• No ACLS, BLS, or other clinical certifications required for this position.
• No prior travel experience explicitly required.
• References: 2 references within last 2 years showing 1 year in comparable specialty, with at least one supervisory reference within last 12 months.
