Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (11:30 AM - 10:00 PM)
- Rotating weekends and holidays required
- Initial training in the Emergency Room (ER)
- Potential to cross-train to main department or surgery based on performance and contract extension
- Experience with adolescents, adults, and geriatrics required
- Use of GE and Siemens equipment
- PACS experience required
- ICU experience preferred
- EPIC system experience preferred
Required Qualifications
- Valid X-Ray Technician license in Kentucky
- Minimum 2 years of X-Ray Technician experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT certification required
- BLS certification required
- Experience working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
Prior Travel Experience
- No explicit prior travel experience required
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (unit dependent)
- PALS, NRP, EFM certifications may be required depending on unit (refer to unit specifics)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Color Blind Testing (required prior to start)
- Competency Exam (required prior to start)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (unit dependent)
Background & Health Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Education verification matching specialty required (transcript/diploma acceptable if verification unavailable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
- Fit mask test annually (with waiver process for failed tests)
- Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
- Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- Tdap within 10 years
- 2 MMR vaccines or IgG titer for Measles, Mumps, Rubella
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer, series, or declination
- 2 Varicella vaccines or IgG titer
- TB testing: True 2-Step PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot within 1 year, updated annually
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required (1 for non-clinical candidates)
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, updated annually
- Employment application required
Work Environment & Equipment
- Exposure to ICU and ER settings preferred
- Use of PACS imaging system
- Work involves rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
