Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Louisville, Kentucky

Job Description
- Work settings include Neuro Stepdown and Telemetry units.
- Responsibilities involve cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and use of rapid response teams.
- Care related to gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and renal systems such as feeding tube management and pre/post hemodialysis care.
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including accessing ports, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting IVs.
- Medication management including heparin protocols, PCA, and titrating cardiac drips.
- Neurological and psychiatric care including CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury.
- Orthopedics and plastics care including ortho trauma, total joint replacements, and surgical drains.
- Respiratory and thoracic care including external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, non-invasive airway management, oxygen delivery, and tracheostomy management.
- Professional skills including isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac management.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience in Med Surg / Telemetry, including Stepdown units.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications issued by the American Heart Association.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and use of Rapid Response Teams.
- Skilled in feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management.
- Competent in IV therapy and phlebotomy including accessing ports, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care and management.
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Telemetry)
- Required years of experience: Minimum 1 year recent Med Surg / Telemetry experience including Stepdown.
- Prior travel experience: Not required.
Additional Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and education verification matching specialty.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Fit mask test annually (with waiver process if failed).
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Tdap within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or titer proof
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Varicella vaccination or titer proof
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start.
- Two professional references required.
- Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exams required and must be updated annually.
Summary
This is a 13-week travel contract for a Registered Nurse specializing in telemetry care in Louisville, KY. The role requires strong cardiac monitoring skills, advanced certifications, and compliance with comprehensive health and background screening protocols. Prior travel experience is not required.
