Job Opportunity: OT Home Health (Therapy/Rehabilitation)
Location: Sarasota, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 20 weeks
Job Description
- Provide occupational therapy services in a home health setting.
- Patient population includes med/surg, cardiac, ortho, post-surgical, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, CVA, falls, weakness, Parkinson’s, respiratory patients, neuro, trauma, amputees (AKA, BKA), and failure to thrive.
- Skilled home care visits (Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Commercial insurance).
- 6-8 home visits per day, with a minimum of 6 points per day (may increase at manager’s discretion).
- Use of evaluation tools, billing/documentation systems, and patient/family education.
- Must be able to self-schedule visits and hours based on office needs.

- Activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Cardiac rehab
- Edema massage
- Feeding techniques
- Splinting
- TENS, Ultrasound
- Orthopedics, Prosthetics/Orthotics
- Standardized assessments
- Joint mobilization
- Home Exercise Program
- Lifting and transfer techniques
- Patient/Family education
- Safety and injury prevention
- Telephone communication
- Must have at least 1 year of home health experience, 2 years preferred.
- Must be an independent practitioner.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable car required for home visits.
- COVID-19 vaccination required or exemption on file.
- Flu shot required or declination on file; mask wearing mandatory while at work.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Florida
- Minimum of 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in a Home Health setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Cardiac rehab
- Edema massage
- Feeding techniques
- Splinting
- TENS
- Ultrasound
- Prosthetics/Orthotics
- Joint mobilization
Additional Requirements
- Scrubs: Any solid color scrub.
- Laptop, MiFi, and portable printer provided for documentation and scheduling.
- Must complete medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Color blind testing required prior to start.
- Competency exams and other certifications as applicable to profession.
- Flu vaccination deadline for pre-start travelers is October 7, 2024; for working travelers December 13, 2024.
- Mask wearing required if flu vaccine is declined.
