Job Opportunity: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work with children, adolescents, and adults in psychiatric/behavioral health units.
• Strong adolescent and child experience preferred. If no adolescent and child experience, must have 2 years of psychiatric/behavioral health experience and prior travel experience.
• Recent psychiatric/behavioral health experience required (1.5 to 2 years). Use the higher value: 2 years required.
• Expected to be open to working across children, adolescent, and adult units.
• May be expected to step in as charge nurse as needed (may include rate increase for that shift).
• Epic EMR system experience required.
• Every Other Week (EOW) schedule required.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training will be provided.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of behavioral health nursing experience, with behavioral health experience within the last year.
• At least 2 years of total travel nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or attestation.
• Copy of Driver’s License/State ID matching state of compact license if applicable.
• Background checks including 7-year criminal check, SS trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender, and FACIS level 3.
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start date.
• Immunizations and titers: Tdap (within 10 years), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (vaccination, positive titer, or declination).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year.
• Flu vaccine required (no declinations or exemptions accepted).
• Proof of 2 clinical references.
• Skills checklist and performance evaluations as applicable.

Additional Information

• Shift supervisor, CNO, nurse manager onsite and available during shifts.
• On-call support available.
• Local candidates within 50 miles may have different pay considerations (not included here).

This position is ideal for experienced psychiatric/behavioral health RNs with prior travel experience who are flexible to work with multiple age groups and can adapt to a fast-paced behavioral health environment.
