Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Camden, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Float within 5 hospitals within skillset (including ICU for downgraded PCU patients)
• Block scheduling NOT allowed
• Patient ratio: 1:4
• Return to Office (RTO) required at time of submission; no RTO after submission accepted
• Must pass Dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing (2 attempts allowed, must be taken on PC, not iOS devices)
• EPIC experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted but not preferred
• Every Other Weekend (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH) required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience working with pediatric patients

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (AHA or ARC only; cannot expire within 30 days of contract start)
• BLS (AHA or ARC only; cannot expire within 30 days of contract start)
• Dysrhythmia competency test (required for PCU and other specified units)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (as applicable)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• NIH Stroke Certification (required for Medical Surgical/Telemetry RNs)
• Other certifications as applicable based on unit assignment

Health & Background Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Physical exam within last 12 months
• Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation (required before first shift)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (with specific protocols for positive responders)
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Required immunizations or positive titers: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen without THC panel within 6 months of start, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required by October 31
• Eye exam with visual acuity 20/40 or better
• Latex questionnaire

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within last 2 years
• Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)
• Work history verification for at least 1 year prior to start date (NJ state mandate)
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Proof of I9 or attestation and E-Verify documentation

Notes

• Prior travel experience is NOT required (first-time travelers accepted but not preferred)
• Must be able to float to ICU for PCU patients as needed
• Dysrhythmia test failure or failure to complete within timeframe results in contract cancellation
• Must take Dysrhythmia test on a PC, not on iOS devices
