Job Description

• Position: Operating Room Surgical Technician
• Unit: Level II Trauma; complex community setting
• Shift:

  • Days: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Evening rotations: 1-2 shifts per 4-week cycle (1:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
  • Weekend rotation: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with call from 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM every 4 weeks
  • Call: 2-3 weekday calls per 4-week schedule; weekend and weekday evening call required
• Floating: Not required
• Rotating shifts: Yes, approximately 2-3 shifts every 4 weeks
• Patient Population: Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Bed Count: 15
• Census: Approximately 30-40 patients per day
• EMR System: EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Certified Surgical Technician
• Minimum Experience: 2 years of Operating Room experience (higher value between 1-2 years interpreted as 2 years)
• Certification: Surgical Technician Certification required
• Call Requirement: Must be willing to take weekend and weekday evening call
• Cardiac monitoring (EKG/Telemetry): Not required

Additional Notes

• This role involves rotating shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
• No floating to other units required.
