Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Inpatient/Acute Care Physical Therapist
• Shifts: 5x8 or 4x10 days
• Start time flexible between 7:00 AM and 9:30 AM
• Every Other Week (EOW) coverage is negotiable
• Acute Care experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius considered

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
• Experience in Acute Care and Inpatient settings
• Experience working with Pediatric patients
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Required Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Background checks including national criminal, state, county, SSN trace, sex offender, and federal exclusions
• Education verification (official transcript or diploma with graduation date)
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (includes multiple drug panels)
• Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually)
• Immunizations and/or proof of immunity or declination for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Missouri EDL Search within 30 days of start
• References: 2 professional references within 3 years
• Employment application, skills checklist, and work history verification required

Additional Information

• Fit testing completed onsite; candidates must bring required forms to orientation
• Orientation includes safety manual acknowledgement and agency nurse orientation quiz (minimum 84% score required)
• Basic dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required depending on unit (not typically for PTs)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training may be required if extending contract or based on unit assignment

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
• Acute care experience is mandatory
• Locals are accepted at a reduced rate within a 50-mile radius
