Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
  • Schedule: Every other weekend (at least every other, more if possible), holidays as needed
  • Float: Required; all travelers may float between all campuses
  • Unit: General Emergency Department (combined Adult and Pediatric ED)
  • Patient Ratios: 1:4
  • Beds: 18 beds
  • Average Daily Census: 75 patients

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • First-time travelers are welcome (no prior travel experience required)

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience working with both Adult and Pediatric patients
  • Clinical skills including:
    • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
    • Phlebotomy
    • Starting IVs
    • Triage skills

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (required for badge)
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification (Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required)
  • Transcript/Diploma as proof of highest education
  • Physical exam (if applicable)
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine proof
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
  • Fit mask test (N95) completed within current calendar year
  • Fingerprinting (NC SBI) required only for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions (not ER)
  • References: 2 supervisory references required from recent assignments (within 12 and 24 months)
  • Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
  • Work history verification for last 5 years

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Floating between campuses is mandatory for all travelers
  • Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
  • Candidates must complete and sign facility-specific documents including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgment
  • Onboarding includes Workday login and multi-factor authentication setup prior to first day
