Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (SNF)

Location: Belleville, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in Skilled Nursing and Rehab Units within a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility.
• Units function similarly to Med-Surg settings.
• Direct patient care with up to 20 residents per shift; average daily census is 72.
• Shift includes every other weekend rotation (weekend required upon center request).
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• No on-call required.
• Locals accepted.
• Attire: Any shade of blue scrubs.
• Charting system: Currently Powerchart, transitioning to Matrix.
• Free parking available.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
• Minimum 2 years of Skilled Nursing experience, with Skilled Nursing experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• IV Certification.

Additional Requirements

• Background checks including SS trace, county searches (7 years), nationwide sex offender, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG required.
• Physical exam within one year of start, updated annually.
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (vaccine or declination within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with specific timing requirements)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination series)
  • Hepatitis B declination accepted
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with testing requirements for Illinois candidates)
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months required; instant tests accepted but cannot start with pending results.
• Unit-specific competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency exam required.
• Two professional references within 2 years required.
• Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start.

Work Environment & Notes

• Skilled Nursing and Rehab Units in LTC setting providing specialized medical and rehabilitation care to dementia and surgical patients, including IV medications and wound care.
• Must provide ample notice (more than 24 hours) for any call-outs.
• Restrictions on time off requests; cannot take every holiday off.
• No floating between units required.

• Not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
