Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Varied 8-hour shifts starting between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM
- Potential for 3 x 12-hour shifts including weekends for the right candidate
- Weekend coverage supported by rotating on-call staff
- On-call required after 5 PM daily and on weekends with primary and backup call techs
Required Experience
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology)
- Neuro experience required (implied by job description)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist within the last year
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in South Carolina
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only, RQI acceptable
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only, RQI acceptable
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) – check unit specifics
- Background Checks:
- 7-year background check within 12 months of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter
- Fingerprinting may be required depending on prior residency and state requirements
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and titers including TB (True 2-step PPD or equivalent within 90 days), Hepatitis B, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, and seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption
- Drug screening within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation (N95 masks commonly used)
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (for positions dispensing medication)
- Core training parts I, II, and III annually (including OSHA, patient safety, cultural diversity, etc.)
- Pass/fail testing for medication and arrhythmia (EKG) exams required for RNs in certain units
- Orientation & Training:
- Completion of online orientation modules within 72 hours of assignment
- Facility-specific onboarding and compliance checklists must be completed prior to start
- Additional Documentation:
- Proof of identity (Driver’s License/State ID)
- I9 verification and E-Verify or attestation
- Education verification (highest level required)
- Photo for badge (passport style, specific background and quality requirements)

- Varied shifts with potential for extended 12-hour shifts including weekends
- On-call responsibilities after hours and on weekends
