Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Neuro Experience Required)
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Description
- Work in Neuro Interventional Procedure Unit
- Patient Age Group: Adolescents to Geriatrics
- Procedures include thrombectomies, embolization, stenting, EVD and SEPS drain insertions, vasospasm treatments, diagnostic angiograms
- Must be familiar with PHILIPS biplane imaging system
- Independent in scrubbing procedures with physician
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Call Requirements: 1-2 weekdays and 1 weekend every 4 weeks (weekend call is 24 hours)
- Call team consists of 1 RN and 1 RT with Neurosurgeon
- Must work major holidays if they fall within assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Clinical screening required to determine fit and eligibility
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro Interventional Radiology experience
- First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)
Required Qualifications
- Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of experience
- Recent Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- Experience working with adolescent patients
- Experience working with geriatric patients
Compliance & Screening Requirements
- Full compliance with orientation and credentialing required to start on time
- Background check within 30 days of start, including education verification
- Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or documented:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer or signed declination)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (highly recommended)
- Flu vaccine or declination (seasonal)
- Color Blind Testing required
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for related specialties
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Verification of most recent work history required (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
- Two clinical references required
Work Environment & Expectations
- Floating within the facility as needed
- Call coverage as specified
- Expected to work major holidays during assignment
- Clinical screening and final approval by management required
