Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) - Nights
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for night shifts with an option of 36 or 48 hours per week. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
Schedule
- Weekend requirement: 4-6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks.
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- AWHONN Intermediate
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – pending certifications accepted
Required Licensure
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for New Mexico with primary source verification (NURSYS verification required).
Additional Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year history, education verification, fingerprinting (completed onsite during orientation), and various federal checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG).
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually.
- Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually.
- Complete application/resume and 7-year work history verification.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- AWHONN Intermediate certification
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Orientation and Onboarding
- Fingerprinting must be completed onsite during orientation; clearance required before working on unit.
- Scrubs provided.
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are welcome.
- Compliance with all facility-specific health and safety protocols is mandatory.
This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs looking for a travel contract opportunity in New Mexico with supportive onboarding and certification flexibility.
