Description

Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Float Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Huntington, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 12-hour day shifts
Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Major Teaching Hospital, Level II Trauma Center
Charting System: Cerner
Scrub Color: Black scrubs (Cabell T-shirt allowed instead of scrub top; surgery requires surgery scrubs provided)
Parking: Free for travelers

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in West Virginia
Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome; prior travel experience is not required
Traveler-friendly environment
Facility assigns required modules via HealthStream prior to start; modules may pend but must be completed within 1 week of start
Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the system for over 1 or 2 years

This position offers an opportunity to work in a major teaching hospital with a supportive environment for travel nurses. The role requires solid clinical skills in medical-surgical nursing with appropriate certifications and licensure.
