Description

Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Bloomington, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in a 3-room unit serving inpatient, outpatient, and ER patients
  • Patient volume: 13-15 patients per day
  • Hours may vary depending on workload
  • Open to first-time travelers

Required Skills & Experience

  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Indiana
  • Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification
  • IV starts experience
  • Procedure experience in:
    • Cardiac
    • Bone Scan
    • Liver/Spleen Scan
    • Lung Scan
    • Thyroid Studies
    • Tumor Localization
    • Myocardial

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
  • ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification required
  • Valid state Nuclear Medicine Tech license for Indiana (must be verified online within 30 days before start)
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable per unit (verify with employer)

Prior Travel Experience

  • Prior travel experience is not required (will take first-time travelers)

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy required)
  • Background checks including:
    • 7 years residence/work history
    • SSN Trace
    • County, Statewide, National Sex Offender checks
    • FACIS Level III
    • Education verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Transcript/Diploma (official copy required, may be pending at start)
  • Employment application with full work history and gap explanations
  • Minimum 2 professional references from recent employment (charge, manager, supervisor or above)

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months (approved respirators required)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required:
    • TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-SPOT) within 1 year
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap strongly recommended
  • Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with minimum 100% score
  • TB questionnaire updated annually

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of unit competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency exam (not required for techs or RRTs)
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation, compliance, confidentiality, and policy forms prior to start
  • HIPAA Acknowledgement required

This position offers a comprehensive opportunity for Nuclear Medicine Technologists with at least 2 years of experience, including those new to travel assignments, to work in a dynamic hospital setting with a variety of diagnostic procedures.
